I hate to do this, and I wish I had discovered this forum earlier (Before I had to make the decision I'm making now). Yes, I'm new and I'm very sorry for just popping in like this.
I have a 2005 KLR650 that I've owned for two years, and for those two years the bike has served me faithfully without ever giving a single day's trouble.
Unfortunately, the bike is starting to need some maintenance that I simply can't provide. I don't have the time, tools or the place to work on my bike and it deserves better than what I can provide.
The few things that need looking at:
Needs: New set of tyres and new set of brake pads.
Rear suspension is extremely bouncy (I suspect the shock has blown/leaked its oil)
I think the Doohickey needs to be looked at.
Other than that, the motor is still strong and everything else (as far as I can tell) is doing 100%. It's never been in an accident and I've only laid it down on its side twice by accident (evident by the slight bend in the brake handle).
The bike has 40 250km on the clock, and I have all the parts/service history I've done on the bike plus some from the previous owners.
It has a centre stand, custom panniers+brackets (Which aren't attached right now) and wiring + relay in place for spotlights (but no spotlights) and has been lowered a few inches by a previous owner (rear-suspension wishbone replaced with pieces of flatbar that have held out very strongly).
I'm look for R25 000 neg on it.
