Race Dog
My Dakar has got a problem that nobody can pin point.
I feel it's running slightly to hot although the temp light has never come on.
When I come to a stop, after it was used for 50km's, it pushes water out the reservoir.
I've checked the thermostat, it was boiled etc. when on the stand it runs beautifully,I can see that when the fan comes on the thermostat opens and water gets used fro the reservoir to about the minimum mark. After a while the thermostat closes and allows the water to warm up again.
This carries on till the thermostat stays open and then it pushes water out of the reservoir overflow.
At first I thought I'm over filling, but it carries on till it's empty.
What am I looking at: 1. blown head gasket
2. blocked radiator
3. broken impeller
The local BMW guys reckon they have never seen this before and it will take time and money, that I don't have, to fix.
Allan has just had an knee op and can't help.
So now I'm throwing myself at the Mercie of the more technical minded DOGS.
