I was so impressed with the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Only a 411cc, but when you look at the engine its so big it looks like a 750. Enough power and speed to get past big busses that looked like Xmas trees and up some seriously steep muddy slopes. Built tough to handle sub continent road conditions.
It is not a very tall bike as you can see with me standing behind it, so probably designed for the sub continent's not as tall population. The top crash bars on the both sides of the tank were a bit of a nuisance with my long legs, I ended up with callouses on the inside of both my knees
There were a couple of times when I went into deep water filled potholes where I was convinced I had buckled a rim or even bent the forks. I got off to check the bike out when Sujan the guide comes past looks at me and the bike and says "come on nothing wrong with that bike"
I am surprised that Royal Enfield are apparently not interested in doing business in South Africa
