So, just this evening I accepted delivery of Swanniebraai's R1100GS - and I have to say, wow what a machine!
It goes smoothly, brakes nicely and has power to spare.
I just have a few questions for the experienced BMW owners, more to set my mind at ease:
I noticed a few noises on the engine: the chief of which is a loud tapping from the right hand side. I'm not sure if it's the throttle body or the engine itself. I read that sometimes this is normal?
Also, I noticed a definite knocking whenever my clutch is pulled in. When the clutch is engage (released) it goes away?
And lastly... I wanted to do change all the oils, but it seems that all the filler and drainage bolts are seized. I don't have a breaker-bar (yet) and the provided 8mm allen-key wasn't sufficient to open some of those.
Overall, I love how smooth this machine is - and I look forward to some good, long rides with her.
*EDIT*
