Those with the experience, please give some guidance on preperation, riding and safety precautions :deal:
So far I have :
1. Be aware of other road users
2. Plan for enough time that you can do an easy ride
3. Ride in small groups (Three) and split up if necessary
4. Blank out mirrors
Why this ? Not to be distracted by the lights behind you ? So you stop every now and again to look around for the following rider ?
5. Stay in the same group and keep your riding order through out, that you know who is in front and behind you.
6. Regroup often (every 10km ? ) especially after a big obstacle like a pass.
7. Ride full moon and check weather
8. Keep following distances to overlap lights, but not too close for sudden stops.
9. Headlight torch
10 Glow sticks
11. Intergroup communication
12. Check headlight angle - test ride.
13. Food and drink survival pack
14. Tools and spares to fix punture
15. Glow jacket or reflective tape on back of bike.
16. At obstacle like water crossings... wait for the rider behind to catch up, go through one at a time, wait for the rider behiund you to cross safe and then go.
17. Be patient.
