So - I've been living a bit of a nightmare this past week.
My 1998 R1100GS died and left me stranded - the symptoms: no spark, and no fuel when cranking the engine.
The fuel pump turns on when I turn on the ignition, but doesn't pump when cranking.
I removed the Hall Sensor plate and found that the wiring was all actually perfect, and that both sensors work fine - in fact, the unit as a whole was replaced back in 2015 (the wiring still looks new).
After putting it back in, hoping it was just a loose wire... nothing. Bike cranks but there is no spark, and no fuel.
I'm stumped and I am hoping this is not going to become an expensive paperweight...
Is there anything else I can look at, or is it time to call an expert?
