This was/is supposed to be a KLR Clan event, but we've decided to open it to the Wilddogs as well.

Same venue as the previous one, HERE'S THE FRED, but this time the route will be different, the facilities upgraded and my trailer will have more beer in it. And there's a surprise route to the venue as well. Kiddo's are welcome and there's a dam to cool off in.

You need to bring dop & chop and your tent.

Start on Friday from Centurion Lifestyle (Ja, die Kawa dealers wil betrokke raak) at around 3 and follow Vagabond on his secret route.

Here's what he says about the plan:

Night ride description.

I started at 18:30 with the planned night ride route to see how it will be if done during the planned time.

The route started with about 14 km on well maintained dirtroads.  The last 3 kilos will be a blue gum tree lane which is quite special.  Then we turn onto tar and you can admire the beautiful coulors of last light to the west.  At kilometer 30, about 40 minutes from the start, we stop for a well deserved halfway break in the middle of no-where. By now it will be dark.

The second half is a bit slower going.  About 18 kilos that will take 30 minutes to complete with a few first and second gear stretches.  Not very technical but you will have to concentrate on the road at the “bad” spots.

But remember, you have a KLR, so it will be most enjoyable.

If there is any interest, we can follow a scenic route on Friday afternoon from a pre-agreed place, like the Kawasaki shop in Centurion (near the lake).  There is a very special focus point where we can briefly stop on the way to our camping spot.  Those of you who have been to this place will want to see it again, and those who have not seen it, will most definitely miss out.

As seen on one photo – one way in and same way out of this old time sink hole.
