This thread will serve a a journal (mostly for myself) of my experience with this bike, keeping record of problems, mods, accessories, rides etc.
I developed an itch for another bike..... The initial idea was to have a bike that I could store in Cape Town with family/friends and use for riding in the area on when I vist CT 3-4 times a year. After being without my 790R for a few weeks because damaged the sump the itch got stronger and the search more earnest. The budget was tight and I had only two candidates on my my list.... 2009/2010 990 R or a 990 S
I had a look at a few bikes and eventually saw a clean 990S for sale on FB. It fitted the budget and the deal was concluded after Dwerg confirmed the bike was in good condition. I was able to negotiate reduced price on the bike and felt that I got a good deal.
