Prinsie
Pack Dog
- A little bit of background before I get started:
I suppose you would classify this as a barn find.
The only difference is I found it in a hangar while walking around at an airshow.
Now the only reason I recognised the make was because I had seen one 3 months previously in P.E. on my annual bike trip.
My father had had one as a young guy and so I've been looking out for a good example for some time.
This wasn't exactly my idea of a good example at first so I just left it there.
As everbody knows a love of bikes is a disease and that was when the bug had bit.
After a little bit of research I decided to try and buy the bike.
Now here's the thing... we have to say thank you to the Brits for preserving good old traditional Brittish motorcycles... ;D
You can buy anything for a Norton...
If you really want, you can buy one of everything on the list and build your very own brand new Norton.
When I said this wasn't exactly my idea of a good example I was wrong...
The bike didn't look that great but that's the least of your worries.
This was a 1956 Norton Dominator 99 600cc
- It had matching engine and frame numbers
- Everything was there... well not quite everything... but the important things were there. (like original oil cap and fuel cap...those things you can buy... but not oRi Gin AAal ones)
The conclusion is:
If you want a great example of this bike... you going to have to do it yourself, so starting from scratch and doing a nut&bolt ground up restoration is your only chance.
They like hens teeth...or rocking horse ottytrain5:
Lets get started... I'll explain along the way...
:useless: - It had matching engine and frame numbers
