O Wise ones - help needed in removing an ignition barrel...

O Wise ones...!

I have consulted the oracle (workshop manual), but I am stumped on jhow to remove the ignition switch BARREL from the mock switchpad (with 4 mock switches) - since the w/shop manual does not explain how...

I have tried: rotatiing the barrel 45 degrees, left and right... ???
easing it out - no luck there ???
and
staring at it for a l-o-n-g time in th ehope that wisdoem would come to me - alas no!  :imaposer:

Please advise how I could remove it?!  :thumleft:
