I'm close to the end of a 3 month trip, covering more than 10,000 km up to date. I had a major service done before I left, incl oil change. I decided to not change oil until now, about 3,000km after recommendation.
A recent post on advrider had. one guy test hos oil after a similar period and found that the oil was still good. I eventually changed the oil in Stuttgart at a Ktm dealership, one that has been going for a very long time, with a certain Jurgen Mayer being the head mechanic, a Paris Dakar top 5 finisher, and about 25 years experience. He also said 10-12,000km should be no problem with the synthetic oils.
So I think that my oil changes will now not be as regular as suggested by the manual.
What do you all think?
