My favorite little town in the Southern Free State so I bought a place in town a couple of years ago. Philippolis is the oldest town in the Free State and celebrating the church existence 150 years in October the weekend of the 5th to the 7th of October 2012.
I have spoken and arranged with a few farmers in the area to open up the routes through their farms and will be doing a ride on this weekend through this area. This is in support to raise funds for the local church in town. I support the town whenever I can. Best and cheapest Karoo lamb and wors
The ride will have some technical sections for those who want but overall completely pillion friendly.
Idea is you come in on the Friday (5 Oct) and to the ride, 300 - 400 km (6 Oct) and then return back to GP on the 7th.
I will have the routes plotted on GPS and will distribute to anyone who wants to join. Accommodation in town will have to be pre booked as they are expecting people from all over the country on this weekend due to all the celebrations.
This is some of the most awesome riding territory in the Karoo. Fpor thise of you who are into star gazing, you have never seen anything like this!
