I'm considering leaving on Thursday
This is the route I've planned
Thursday - approx 350km
Pta - Delmas - Devon (Tar)
Devon - Greylingstad - Vrede - Harrismith (Dirt)
Stay at President Brand Campsite
If the weather looks / is grotty - it will be tar to Harrismith. I've done most of this route before and it is brilliant if dry. If wet it could be a bit of a problem, and I'm not into problems ;D
Friday either approx 410km or 490km depending on options
Harrismith - Qwa Qwa (Tar)
Qwa Qwa - Monanstsa border post (Lesotho) - Butha Buthe (Dirt)
Butha Buthe - Maseru - Mafeteng (Tar)
..and then either Sepapus gate border post - Van Stadensrus - BASH (approx 410km)
..or further to Trollips gate border post - Zastron - BASH (approx 485km)
Any takers ?
Conditions: Camping in Harrismith, Valid Passports. The entire route is easy but I do not want to hang around. Would like to reach the BASH campsite by mid afternoon. The tar section through Lesotho is difficult in the sense that there are a lot of taxi's, pedestrians and livestock - all with a will of their own. Other than that - it is very scenic
