Hi all.
After my gear lever broke and left me having to ride home in first gear, I've given the matter some thought and now I've got some questions.
For the past two weeks, the bike has been hell getting from first into second gear. I've been swearing at my boots, and on last Thursday I almost bought a new pair of boots. (O'Neil shorties).
On Wednesday, the gear lever suddenly snapped off, leaving me in neutral next to the road. This got me thinking that the trouble I've been having over the past two weeks was probably a cracked gear lever, and not my boots.
Now I've been playing around though, and I notice that the gears will go smoothly from first, through neutral, and into second gear. If I try to take it from neutral to second it is very clunky and grinds the gears. Is this normal?
Thanks
Leon
