R 80 G/S FOR SALE (ANOTHER ONE!) SOLD!!

Due to a daughter that needs to go to university next year , it is with a heavy heart that I need to offer my beloved R 80 G/S for sale.

I bought this a number of years ago and has since restored it to as close as possible to original condition.

It was stripped down completely and the following items attended to:

All frame parts blasted to bare metal and recoated.
Tank, mudguards, headlight binnacle etc re sprayed with new decals
Steering head bearings replaced
Swing arm bearings replaced
Wheel bearings & seals replaced
Rims reconditioned with new stainless steel spokes
Rims and hubs ceramic coated
Front shocks overhauled by Martin Petzholdt and fitted with progressive springs
Rear Shock overhauled by Martin Petzholdt
I replaced the speedo with an electronic unit as the old one was beyond repair (This is the only non standard component)
All bolts, nuts & washers replaced with stainless steel except the critical structural bolts such as engine and shock mounting bolts.
Front brake hose replaced with braided stainless steel hose
Original type wind deflector fitted over light binnacle. (Not shown in the attached photos, will post more photos later.
The rear part of the exhaust is a stainless steel unit from a R100 GS.

I have not done much to the engine except had it checked and tuned by Motorad Windhoek.The engine starts easy and runs sweet.

I will consider and negotiate any reasonable offer around ZAR 40K
