R 80G/S CONVERSION TO 1000CC. ANY ADVICE?

Hi Guys I have a R80 G/S and need to open the engine to change seals etc. Do you recommend or have any experience with the conversion to 1000cc?  ot:
What is the pros and the cons.?
I am quite happy at the moment with the power ,but have been told that I can cruise with the conversion  with the engine more relaxed and will give me a lot of torque(40%more) in the off road.
Also what do you think of putting a double disc break in the front,and any advice to improve the suspension?
