Hi All,

I've got a bit of uncertainty here... I'm replacing my rear bearings bit by bit, but only to be a bit confused now...

The workshop manual shows that the nylon spacer ring should go into the sprocket side of the hub. But I feel for some reason it should go into the disk side... can anyone confirm if I should believe the workshop/service manual?

It's just, if there is no spacer ring at the disk side (as the manual suggests) then there is an open space between the bearing and the shoulder of the hub behind it - see question mark. Should this be fine? So I just drive the bearing in until I can insert the circlip? Will I not drive the bearing into the spacer tube and damage the bearing?

Then again, if I drive the bearing on the sprocket side up to against the shoulder of the hub (without the spacer as I'm thinking), then there will be a space between the bearing and the sprocket bearings...

Am I being stupid here?
