I'm just mentioning this because I was unaware of it. When I had the rear shock done, i realised that you can set more than pre-load on the rear shock. You can also adjust the rebound dampening (think that's what it's called). There's a little screw at the bottom of the stock showa rear shock, if you turn it (half a turn at a time...no idea why you have to do it like that..I didn't) anti-clockwise, you soften the shock, if clockwise, you harden it. The spring has more to do with ride height it seems, and not whether the shock feels hard or soft.

When I redid my rear shock, it was very stiff..too stiff. So, I adjust this little screw and softened it..much better!
