Hi all, my name is Heron from Pretoria and I am new to the forum and adventure biking in general. I did the unthinkable. I bought a broken bike 
But before you judge me for buying a bike on auction, please kindly consider that for me it was the only way I could afford a BMW R1200 GS, which is a bike I always wanted but had no money to buy, so I decided to make a plan and buy one on auction after I first had to convince the wife. I then had so much fun restoring it that I made a short video about the restoration process and I truly was so happy when I fixed the backfire! Since then I am now sold on one day living the dream of going on an overland adventure with a bike like this, something which only a few weeks ago I did not think would ever be possible. I hope you like the video as it took me ages to edit it so that it is not too long..
