Panne
Race Dog
As my suspension has been shipped off for a decent service, I decided that now is as good and easy a time as any to have a look at the steering head bearings.
They were cleaned and greased at the last service I did but I suspected then that they were on their last legs.
Anyhow:
This is what I found when I removed the steering stem:
So, off I go to Bearing Man for a new set, which I will be fitting tonight. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a set from the agents. This will set you back R900. :eek7: I paid R140 for the 2 bearings. The reference number is L45449/10 and the salesperson will know what you're talking about. :thumleft:
Lastly, I am not going to document the procedure but there's quite a good video about it here: https://www.garagenight.tv/ep-5-replacing-steering-head-bearings/
