Rhodes to Kokstad

Hi,

I want to do a trip round Lesotho in April.

I would like to know what the road conditions are like from Rhodes to Kokstad ie the R396 and R56, are they tar or dirt; are they passable by a GSA.

Do I need knobbilies etc

any info would be appreciated.
