Friends of mine are planning a ride through the Richtersveld in March/April and I am looking to source some local knowledge from the Dogs who ride/have ridden there on two potentially challenging stretches they are contemplating on bikes with 4x4 back-up.
1. Kuboes to Viooldrif via Eksteenfontein (130kms - Richtersveld.net says this is 4x2 road.)
2. Vioolsdrift to Pella along the Orange River route, including the pass to “The Hell”
Please give inputs here (or by PM) on the technical level of the routes and road conditions when last ridden...?
Is it pillion friendly or strictly solo?
