Riding with new boots

Wow yesterday I bought a new pair of boots.My old boots are a size 9(my actual shoe size is 8).I try a 9 on in the shop and can barely get my foot in,so I try a 10.
This morning I go for a ride,but I have no feet,they do not feel like they are part of my body.I miss gears and feel like a complete tjop.I hope a day or two will see me improving.
But what a weird feeling ,yesterday riding around with silky smooth gearshifts and today feel like a complete Dwis!!!!!!
Anyone else had this problem??
