Road north from Groblershoop past Witsand Nature Reserve

I am considering going to Hotazel from the bash in Nov, can anyone tell me what the road look like that goes past the Witsand Nature Reserve? ie sand, how much, how thick etc.

If someone can post a photo or two of the road it will be appreciated.

And yes, i did search and only got references of people travelling on the road but nothing on the condition/technicality thereof.
