Rockfox bashplate mounting crack

Washing my steed a few days ago i found the front bashplate mounting bracket broken off the bends both sides. Nearly put a damper on the upcoming ride with manic and driffie,  however, old skills die hard and the welder was dug out and repair affected. I did notice when installing the bashplate that there was unusual or excessive tension against the rubbers front to rear mounting. I suspect that the weld will break , its a rockfox bashplate...
Does anybody have the dimensions of the rubbers, either that or the mounting bracket is not correctly made!!!
