Ons eie GS Trophy champ!
Baie geluk @Malmoer !!!
Laasjaar toe ons daai bikes uit die Richtersveld moes casavac toe sien Ek hoe gooi jy daai Superten rond in daai sand, jy mag maar!
Grit is not a word; it's an action and an action exercised by all the participants at our 3-day GS Trophy 2024 Qualifier South Africa. Yesterday, we wrapped up this epic event with the final blood, sweat and tears on display for all to see
A team challenge searching for a mystery box on a field and old railway track just outside Fullarton continued onto an intense sand challenge back at the Country Trax farm, where a group of female and male finalists qualified for the final Arena Challenge that put months of intense training to the ultimate test
It was a showdown of epic proportions amidst an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, a backdrop of sheep (yeh, it's a legit farm) and a windstorm second to none. The environment and conditions were the ultimate preparation for Namibia 2024, as I forgot to mention the 38-degree temperature to make it fun
The arena included ten intense challenges that needed to be completed with the fewest penalties within the quickest overall time. What a nail-biting show, as the old lady refused to sing
After a gruelling track attempt by the 16 Men's Finalists and 6 Women as they navigated the complex arena, the Marshals put their marks together and finalised the rankings.
We waited. The wind storm intensified, and the sheep continued to graze.
The results were finally in and announced last night. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the Top 3 Men and Top 2 Ladies of the GS Trophy 2024 Qualifier South Africa
1. Morne Van Rooyen
2. JP Boer
3. Ruhan De Villers
AND
1. Elizna Weideman
2. Dianne McLean
Whilst the Men are confirmed to represent Team SA in Namibia next year, the two ladies will head to Spain in January for a final Qualifying round for Namibia. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsor, BMW ZA IT HUB, their flights have been fully covered for the event
Despite only five Trophy Winners featured, everyone who participated received their certificates, which we know is small compared to the unbelievable experience, the memories, and the lifelong friendships formed in the true #SpiritOfGS
Thanks for joining us, and keep an eye on our page for further pics to follow
