Sani, letseng, old mill route, clarens. Some advice please.

Planning a ride from Himeville stay at st james lodge then to Clarens via old mill route for early August.
An alternative route is Himeville, stay at Thaba Tskeka then to Clarens.
I know its gonna be hectic cold but dont mind that too much.

My questions are
1: which one is the better choice? I've done Himeville, Thaba Tseka then to Clarens via Ficksburg route a few years back. Really liked it. Is the other route any good?
2: Is the old mill route doable with the DL 650?
3: Will either route be possible in two days
4: Is it a bad time of the year to go?
