My wife decided she wanted to test the BMW for comfort so we made a spur of the moment decision to do a one night trip to Seagulls for the Seafood Buffet......It was the first time we have ridden by ourselves so I decided to keep the trip into the Kei as short as possible due to punctures etc :thumleft: Just as well because the wind was screaming on Saturday.....so much so that I could feel the front wheel move on the gravel when riding in a straight line :eek7: Its not often that I'm happy to get off my bike and stop riding but that day was one of those days :lol8:

So we booked in and to our dismay we were told that they were not having the buffet because there were so few guests....just us and another couple and they did not eat seafood :eek7:  :eek7: The lady reception gave us a discount so instead of R695 pppn we paid R650 which I thought was fair....So it was off to the Bar to drink some red wine and relax and just forget about the rest of the world :thumleft:

After eating to much breakfast we took a slow ride back to the pont and waited for it to come fetch us....My wife gave the 800 a good comfort rating saying it was not as comfortable as the 1200 LC but alot more comfortable than the 1190 :thumleft:

We stayed at Trennerys in April and took a walk around Seaguls. It looked a bit tired and run down. How was the accommodation?

I've been riding plastic bikes up and down the kei coast for many years and we sometimes stop and have a few drinks at Seagulls and its a great improvement on what it used to be :thumleft: Its not as upmarket as Trenneries but the rooms were neat and clean and the staff were very polite and friendly :thumleft: I always got the feeling that Trenneries was not as inviting to bikers stomping there boots/mud all over the place and revving bikes etc (we were once told to park our bikes at he entrance to the gate at Trenneries which did not impress me) Maybe things have changed there but we always just went to Seagulls because of the atmosphere :thumleft: They even let me park my bike in a secluded area out side the door of our room :thumleft:

It's nice you got discount and a seafood platter  :thumleft:

Hope the bike is so comfy your wife joins you again  :ricky:

Thx for sharing!!
Kei definelately on my "to-do-list" ...  :thumleft:

Nice sleepover ride, but do yourself a favour and rather go stay at Trenneries next time. Awesome vibey pub, great seafood buffet and bikes more than welcome !

Every year they have a family funduro bike race and the chap that runs it himself rides.

Only see this now - nice outing for a day / night.

I don't know seafood at all, so they can give me %$#@*! and I'll be eating it  :lol8:

Thanks for sharing  :thumleft:

Hmmmm a Ktm wallet and an F800Gs... keeping your options open I see. LOL - looks like a lovely trip. thanks for the RR

Lekker Man, lekker! Seagulls is a down to earth honest place, typical Wild Coast Hotel from the "old days" where a party can start from having a few quiet drinks in the bar.
