I'm in two minds – since I was relieved of my 800GS, I've been pining for two wheels.
If I can find a KTM 950 Adv for 75-80k I'll go for it, but nothing much out there at the moment.
The alternative is my brother's 2006 Dakar. He's selling it for 40k with 25000km on.
The problem is that he didn't take care of it.
- Scratches on most of the plastics
- Forks twisted (which I more or less straightened by use of some counter force)
- Clutch cable tired
- Screen cracked
- Brights not functional
You get the picture...
I had a Dakar before and although it's great fun, I'm spoilt by the power and touring capabilities (ie. cruising speed) of the 800 now.
So the question is: Wait for a reasonable 950 to crop up, or get the Dakar cheap and nasty?
