Race Dog
so there i was, sick and tired of watching sillyb turning up the soil on her new beta trials,
this past sunday i got the dak out from under his blanket, pumped up the back tyre and loaded it on the bakkie, next to the beta.
we went to to chimes, the huge minedump where i almost died ten weeks ago.
i am very, very unfit but once i strapped the hand up rode for almost one hour, god it was great!!!
i cannot wheely, ramp ,jump or play the fool as my shoulder is still very painfull but by god i had a huge smile on my face.
the downside of course is that i cant get to the front brake, the injury to my right hand is very serious,i have no extension,my hand is limp from the wrist to my fingertips, due to my severing the radial nerve that operates the hand.
but i have made a plan to solidly strap my wrist and this lets me grip the throttle.
thursday i go to the doc to see about the magic operation that will repair my hand,so i will wait and see.
but in the meantime if you ride at chimes on sundays and spot a very slow dakar with loads of duct tape holding it together, stop and say howzit.
it was nice to see that steady is a regular rider there as well as a few other guys who i have now forgotten there dog names.pity that steady has left the site.
anyway, its nice to be back ,however slowly.
cheers
