there i was
starting to doubt my riding abilities!!!
really i just could not for the life of me get the dakar to shift smoothly
so there i was sitting at home thinking about what the hell it is that i'm doing wrong
i know that the clutch disengaged fully...
i know that the clutch had the manual specified play - no signs of slipping...
then it came to me...
the clutch is still to tight - not for slipping but when i pull the lever in it disengages to much...
so i loosen then cable some more and...
bobnob's your uncle!!!
smooth as a babies bottom...
i figured that when the gears disengage they are pulled to far away from each other and they then get out of sync and CA-BAM!!! clack clack clack
anyway if your F650 is clanky adjust the cable - this was the same on the demo model i used for the test ride - so they must set the cable to stiff at the dealership...
