Hey Cloudgazer...it was great meeting you and I'm chuffed to hear that you made it back ok (after hearing about your leaking shock and loaded bike at the Bash). Nice RR too, and great photos. I'm really keen to find that '3 water crossing' road to see where it goes to  ;D

Nice meeting you at the bash and very cool RR. Thanks for sharing.  :thumleft:

Yeah boet, was grat meeting you and your bro too

I really enjoyed your RR, story & pics, thanks very much! those panniers have been through the wars allright. ;D If I may what type are they? I have moved over to soft panniers because it seems the hard ones explodes if they touch anything - well mine did anyway ::)

They're the BMW vario panniers. Not great for off-roading. Side opening and very heavy. I use em for commuting (gym kit, work stuff, shopping) for that they're perfect. Same lock as ignition.

I'm surprised at their strength though. I've fallen a dozen times with them. Ripped one off on two occasions. And they've still held together. The one is a bit worse for wear now. No longer waterproof and buckled.

I'd like soft panniers though. But not if you use the bike daily in town. Both hard and soft options is ideal. But if I can only have one I will stick to hard luggage.

Very nice report Cloud , thanks for sharing  :thumleft: :thumleft:
