So how bad do GS's suck??

In anticipation of getting my new (2nd hand 2005 1200 GS) I have been doing a lot of reading on this site and also elsewhere. Now I have been dreaming about a 1200GS for 4 years and I cannot wait for everything to be sorted.

Sadly though I just keep reading about FD failures, messed up front discs, engines exploding and general chaos! Have I just made a monumental cock up?

I test rode everything and after all that the GS was the only bike for me. Perhaps it is just buyers remorse but I am a little concerned!!
