Mark Hardy
Grey Hound
After 6 years and 130 000 kms of fun I have decided to give my bike some serious TLC....
This is what I am having done
New piston and rings
New crank bearings
New water pump kit ( nothing wrong with the original one but what the hell)
New gasket kit ( replacing every gasket and seal in the motor)
New wheel bearings
New swing arm bearings
New steering bearings
Balancing the carbs
cost about R20K
Then she should be ready for the next 100 000kms
I have thought long and hard about getting a replacement bike but then I would have to put myself into serious debt. Also I can't think of any other bike on the market that will offer me what the 950 does. I can truly say that this bike fullfills every need I have when it comes to biking. She has only ever once left me stranded on the side of the road and that was my fault, I knew the fuel pump was faulty but still I went for ride ;D .
So at the end of the month I will have to run her in again..then we can "gooi some mielies" good a proper again
