The sad time has come for me to part with my part with my 1200GS in order to allow me to downgrade to a 800GS.
The reason for the need for me to downgrade is that the 1200GS has become too much of a heavy weight for me to wrestle with on more "technical" routes I've encountered to date.....due to the hassle I've been encountering with the disk above my lower back spinal fusion.
I need a bike that SWAMBO & I can effortlessly commute to/from work on a daily basis.....as well being able to enjoy whatever/whichever trips/day rides time affords me to take on. To date.....my 1200GS has provided that. Believe..... if there was financially a way for me to keep my 1200GS & then have a second smaller capacity bike to enjoy the Gravel Travel....then I would not be here now in the situation of selling my bike.
It just makes a bit more sense for me to rather make a switch to a slightly lighter & manageable/agile bike for me to ride for the type of riding I enjoy. It sure is gonna be a bit of an adjustment for me to switch back to "Tubed Tyres & Chain Drive" on the 800GS.....instead of the luxury of "Effortless Pleasure of Tubeless Tyres & Maintenance Free Shaft Drive" of the 1200GS....... But such is life......there will always be Pros & Cons. This move, I believe is gonna be better suited for my needs for now. Sure am gonna be sad to part with her......she has she really has served me well & given me an abundance of pleasure & enjoyment.
OK then......enough of the reasons for my sale....... here below are all the relevant details of my bike:
- R1200GS
- 2008 model (Facelift)
- 65000km
- ABS, Heated Grips, ESA suspension.
This bike has been fitted out with quite a lot of extras:
- Plenty extras (Upper & lower crash bars, LED spotlights, heavy duty bashplate, GSA rear luggage rack, Kappa topbox, Side Tool Box, Kaoko throttle lock, LeoVince pipe, wide s/steel foot rests, headlight protector with amber filter, Starcom Pro Comms system, 2 auxiliary power points).
I will be straight & honest...... the present retail price on my bike (Stock Standard & without all the extras) is R79 900. Taking into consideration the value of all the many extras that the bike has..... I feel that a fair asking price for everything on offer is around R90 000 (neg).
I am open to reasonable offers & am willing to negotiate options with any potential buyers.
