Time to move on. For sale: 2004 1150 GSA, VIN NO WB10441A44ZH59707. Current Km 134 513. R55k.
I am the second owner. A Dr Cronje from Postmasburg bought the bike new from Speedbike, Bloemfontein in Jan 2004, and I bought the bike from him in 2005 when the bike was at Speedbike, Bloemfontein for its 10 000km service.
The bike has a full service record and most invoices are available for every cent spent on it. It was, at least mechanically, meticulously maintained (I am no good at washing bikes or cars). All books and spare keys are available. No oil leaks or even traces thereof.
Last service at 130 000km was a full replacement of all filters and spark plugs (save the fuel filter). New brake pads front inside fitted, gear and diff oils changed too.
The bike is 100% original, save for wider footpegs and handle bar raisers fitted.
Outside normal maintenance items, the only parts ever replaced were the 2 main coil sticks at 80 000km and fork seals around the same time.
The bike had been used what it was intended for, and show some scars as evidence. It had never been in an accident with another vehicle or hard object. “Accidents” were (1) it toppled over when being washed once and the screen got scratched right lower side (2) on the BMW sand riding course, I fell and the bike got shallow scratch marks on the tank right side (3) Between Cathcart and Hoggsback, riding into the setting sun, I hit a sandbank left by a grader and fell, scratching the left side of the tank. There is no structural damage however anywhere.
Panniers: Although they are structurally sound, the following needs to be noted: (1) The top box external brace got lost. (2) The left pannier got slight damage during the Hoggsback incident and the bottom lock is iffy, yet strong. (3) the right hand pannier fell off a truck when we moved to Langebaan, and got damaged on the right hand top (scratch marks), and the bottom lock is also iffy, yet strong. I replaced all plastic hinges with Aluminum ones.
The bike had not been ridden hard nor abused. Never wheelie’d or raced or anything of the sort.
I have a set 2 new front brake pads spare to go with the bike.
Mitas E07 tires fitted with 3mm and 4 mm tread left front and rear respectively.
The bike is in Langebaan. My no 0814133399.
Regards, Johan
