I'm not gonna write a lot but post mostly pics.
Left Pretoria 5:00 Sat morning and Slabbed it to the Sasol Garage on the N14 just past Soweto.
Here I had to stop and get some much needed heat back into my body. So a cup of coffee was enjoyed while I waited for the sun to get out of bed.
And what a sunrise it was!
Then took the dirt roads and try to stay on them as far as possible.
Stopped to smell the flowers.
I have done the NW side of the Dome a few times and wanted to do the Freestate side for once.
Just before Parys I had a bit of a close shave. Coming around a bid of a bent a car was coming from the front, and the was a lekker bump in the road for the culvert crossing, and therefore I had to compress the shocks to come overt the crest in a bit of a wheely, Very lekker.......
Only then did I notice the T-junction about 100m ahead.
That was the hardest I had to break on gravel yet. I made it just!!!! :-[
Had some breakfast in Parys and took to the roads again.
Then, due to a wrong turn I happened upon the most photographed bridge on Wild Dogs ;D
Not long after I turned away in the the flats of the Freestate, towards Kroonstad.
Found my great-great granddad's railway sidling.
The last 20 odd km was tar into Kroonstad.
Attended my cousin's wedding and had a great time.
Unfortunately the camera's battery was flat and left the charger at home, so I could not take any pics on the return journey.
Sent my stuff back to Pretoria with my brother, and I did a bid of a marathon run back to Pretoria on some different, and shorter gravel roads.
