I just love tinkering. Mostly I build my own things because I just cannot afford an off-the-shelf item, but sometimes I just need to spend a day in the garage. And so it was with this set of pegs I made. I had an old set from my previous GS lying around, and thought I'd put them to good use as a platform for wider pegs for the LC.
Photo1: Started off with 300mm flatbar, drilled holes all along the center. I know they're not perfectly spaced, but it was a quick day in the garage with some DIY tools.
Photo2: Cut the bar in two along the center, and used a 50mm waterpipe as a form to bend the flatbar around. Then measure against the pegs for the length.
Photo3: New flatbar welded onto the pegs. My welding's not professional, but it'll hold.
Photo4: Painted with rubber paint, and installed on the bike. They work beautifully! Slightly larger than purchased ones, they are rock solid!
