Well my shares were extremely low with the wife and I needed to boost them quickly (long weekend soon) so I decided to take her to a cozy retreat. Glen Avon is a farm steeped in history and a wonderful place to just relax, it has trout dams and glorious mountain riding tracks behind it, my personal favorite is a 116km loop which takes you from mountain climbing tracks to fast twisty tracks with all terrain, sand, water (when the rains eventually come), rocky paths ect .
My wife has not been on gravel with Crayola, my new GSA, and was looking forward to the ride.
Well we arrive Friday evening and into the original 1800’s house we move, as my wife was admiring the cozy little spot she finds the first of many eight legged creatures whom she is extremely scared of .It was my duty to relocate the poor creatures to safety before my boots were used to squish them.
Here are a few photos.

In the 1800s the voortrekkers used to take their maize to the mill on Glen Avon farm and camp while it was ground into maize.
Some of the wood holding up the aqueduct is over a hundred years old. Great craftsmen those days.

While the wheel was turning with the water it also turned a shaft that in turn spun a smaller wheel which had a saw on one end for slicing timber.

Nice trip Drazil.

I want to get my wife more involved in rides. I took her for a breakfast in J-Bay, We also had an outing to Blue Horizon Bay and hugged the coast back to PE one Saturday afternoon.

She enjoys it a lot, but she haven't been on gravel yet so I must make a plan sometime.

Cheers.

Verlang ek na nou na my hometown. Was julle ook by Glen Avon waterval? Ossewa kamp sal lekker bash venue maak, glo nie Anton sal mind nie. EC bly maar net die beste.
