I'll be taking a road and gravel trip and taking my time this April. I will primarily travel on tar but will have many stop overs so I can play on gravel in the afternoons.
basically the route will follow:
Krugersdorp
Kuruman
Augrabies Falls
Vanrhynsdorp
Doringbaai
Nieuwoudtville
Calvinia
Williston Hotel
Carnavon
Britstown
De Aar
Gariep Dam
Huis
These wont be stop overs in particular as I will choose spots that take my fancy as I go along, they only indicate a basic route. My question for planning purposes is what is the condition of the tar roads on my route and will there be a shortage of fuel along the way?
Should I be concerned about water as I have seen that South Africa is in a drought phase?
