I’m in the throngs of planning a Southern Africa loop from the 18th of April to the 4th of May. I will be doing the trip with a lady friend who will be on the back of my BMW GS650 and wanted to test whether there are any of you that are keen to join…
The trip will traverse Botswana, southern Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and Swaziland (5500-6000km’s). It will include all the great sights: Etosha, Vic falls, Lake Kariba, Lake Malawi, Inhambane and more. The plan is to take 3 of the 17 days off (at Vic falls, Lake Malawi and Tofu) and on others to ride a max of 500km’s. We are likely to camp on most nights at safari lodges etc where there are facilities but you would likely be able to choose to camp or use fixed accommodation.
I have the route pretty much planned out but I’m certainly flexible and open to suggestions.
