For years wanted to go to Lake Malawi, and decided that next year will be that year.

Any dawgs that can give some advise about our intended trip to the Vic Falls, Lake Kariba and Lake Malawi early 2020.

Our plan is to do this either during April or June 2020. Not sure which will be better.

Plan is as follows.

Day 1: Leave Jhb to Lephalale. Stay over in Lephalale. (340km)
Day 2: Lephalale to Nata, Botswana( 550km) - Any recommended place to stay over
Day 3: Nata to Vic Falls, (320km) stay over at the Waterfront – Camping
Day 4: Rest day at Vic Falls. Camping
Day 5: Vic Falls to Lake View Lodge Kariba Lake (312km) – Camping
Day 6: Rest day at Lake Kariba- Camping
Day 7: Lake Kariba Lodge to Luangwa Bridge Camp Zambia (570km)
Day 8: Luangwa Bridge Camp to MamaRula’s in Chipata (355km)- Camping
Day 9: Chipata to Senga Bay (260km)- Camping
Day 10: Rest day at Senga Bay- Camping
Day 11: Senga Bay to Cape Maclear(182km)- Camping
Day 12: Rest day at Cape Maclear- Camping
Day 13: Cape Maclear to Tete, Mozambique( 388km) Any recommended place to stay over
Day 14: Tete, Mozambique to Harare, Zimbabwe.(383km) Any recommended place to stay over
Day 15: Harare Zimbabwe to Mussina A(600km) Any recommended place to stay over
Day 16: Mussina to Jhb(525km)

Also thinking about doing it the otherway around by starting up Zim to Lake Malawi, on to Zambia, Lake Kariba , Vic Falls and back through Botswana. Which one would be the better option and why.

How safe is this route. Any places we must rather avoid.

Any other suggestions about the route, planned places and accommodation etc would be appreciated.
