Spares to carry

I always carry an alternator belt on a longish day trip it is "small" light so why not, so Sunday morning, 50km into the 1300km ride home from the bash and halfway between Vioolsdrift and Springbok, on comes the battery light, ride the 50kms to Springbok on battery so that I can park in the shade. 8)

Pull the front cover, yep shredded...

So dig in my bag pull a spare and fit in 10 more minutes, total time 30 minutes out of trip but could have been 2 days to get one in Springbok?

A definite spare to carry 8)
