Bike started spluttering (no backfiring) all of a sudden on an off-road ride a few weeks ago, would be fine at idle to 1/8th throttle then starts spluttering when I accelerated more.
Thought it might be the tank vent so I removed all the bits and it seemed the problem was solved. Blew throught the vent pipe, all clear. Went on a long tech ride the following week, no problems.
Yesterday, it happened again. Jumped the bike over a small hump and as I landed the spluttering started again. I stopped, let the bike idle for a while and all was cool again. Maybe the lack of 'gravity' or the petrol (1/2 tank) sloshing about had an effect?
I'm assuming it's a vent/breather problem but where? Any ideas before I start stripping the bike? Electrical, maybe, bloody hope not?
Never had it in the past but the bike did stand for a few months while getting repaired
