My brand new(second hand) KLR has developed an irritating squeak coming from somewhere underneath the fuel tank. This happens at low rpm's, around 2000, so it's very noticeable while idling around town etc. I've removed the seat and tank and radiator cowlings and tried to eliminate possible squeaky area's by re-glueing mounting rubbers and "rubberising" any scuffed area's. It then seems fine for a while, but within 5 k's, it's back again! ??? One thing I did notice though, is that my fan cowling is cracked, I've done a patch job on it, and will be looking for a new fan/cowling this week.
Anyone else had a squeaky problem with their KLR's? I know thumpers do vibrate and it is to be expected, but this is getting annoying!
