As most of you know we started a campaign about a year ago to discourage everyone (but especially bikers) to stop putting stickers on private and state road signs. The campaign is galloping along nicely now, but there is one group (Proudly Meerkat) who are showing us the middle finger in defiance. We are hoping that the campaign will bring them in from the dark side too and make SA a more attractive place to tour, both for locals and international visitors. We ask all of you to refrain from the practice (it is vandalism in its raw form) and remember the only place its OK to put a sticker is on your own property. No-one can argue with that and if you have to absolutely leave your mark, then at least put your sticker on the back of the sign.
This week we take a look at the above topic in our newsletter, we unpack the life and time of the famous South African painter Thomas Baines (not the road engineer Thomas Bain) and we visit the town of Knysna and feature the longest pass in SA - the Prince Alfred's Pass. You'll need about 50 mins to digest it all, but you will be well informed at the end. Bring out the popcorn and enjoy!
