Stupid question or not?

My wife has finally given my permission to by a new bike. First though was to trade the 990 on an 1190R, but for the price difference between a kitted out 1190 and what I can get for my low km, immaculate 990 with all its upgrades, I can almost buy a 690. Which is the better option?

And any smartass who says I  should trade the 990 on an 1190 and a 690, I will  pm you my bank details. Contributions will be gratefully accepted.
