This morning early, on my way to work, the KLR started spluttering. Although I knew the tank was still a 1/3rd full, I changed to reserve. This did not help, and the bike died
I tried starting a few times, but nothing.
Once it got light enough so that I could see, I loosened the 2 small screws at the vacuum tap, and operated the tap a few times. Petrol started leaking out. I fastened the screws, started the bike, and pulled away. After about a 100meters, same story. I again fiddled with the tap, the bike started, and never missed a beat again
Speaking to a colleague of mine who drove the same road a few minutes earlier than me, he told me that the temp where I stalled was -5.5 degrees.
Did the carb freeze up ? Surely KLRs are sold in countries colder that SA, do they have the same problem ?
All advise appreciated
