Sunday 26 7 2015 Breedt's Neck Harties

Date :26 7 2015

Locations: Boksburg, Krugersdorp n14 , Tarleton, towards Rustenburg over Breedt's neck, Mooinooi, Hatries  for lunch and back to Boksburg

Total Km: 324km's
Ride time : 2h30min

I have attached the Garmin route map if anyone want to do the route.



So Grant, George and myself decided we will brave the cold and go ride and what a lekker ride we had!

George and myself started from Boksburg and met up with Grant at the Sasol Pinehaven

From the Sasol we headed out to Tarleton and so the gravel fun began!

It was really nice open gravel roads all the way to Breedt's neck

We made a pitstop at the Syferbult turn

From Syferbult we turn right towards Breedt's neck.

going up Breedt's Nek we dogged a few mountain bikers on the way to the top and one for Ford Fiesta!!!! ( assume a rental as it would have lost its sump on the way down! it was "Rowe klippe" doing down!)

Reaching the top we had a quick leg stretch and piepie stop.

DIT WAS LEEU KOUD! but still a awesome view over Buffelspoort Dam

This one of the routes I love most to ride for a day trip!

From Breedt's Neck we headed down.

Breedt's neck going down was very rocky but nice!

From the bottom of Breedt's Nek we turned right towards Mooinooi and then on to Harties  for lunch!

It was a nice outride with good friends!

Thanks for the pics ....it seems that there were some maintenance done over the neck .... That road was in a poor state a while ago ....

From JHB side it was good but the PTA side down was " Rof" it was very rocky with quite a few huge boulders.

The rocks are not the problem in intself, it is the marble-like little stones all over the rocks that is scary for me. If you are not carefull, your front wheel will slip and bang, not a soft landing.
