Suspension settings on 990 30yr anniversary

Mech at KTM Bloem tells me it comes with standard settings-- meant for a guy of 70 kgs...
Will setting it on the "sport" setting make a huge difference?
Rode my son's 990 S the weekend... a farkin amazing bike!!!
